How To Choose The Best Waterbed Mattress

Side sleepers often experience discomfort when they try to get a good night’s rest on a traditional mattress. Their hips sink down too far, which can cause back pain and shoulder problems. If you are one of the many side sleepers out there, then you know how difficult it is to find that perfect balance between comfort and support. Fortunately, waterbed mattresses offer an excellent solution for those who want both!

Waterbeds provide great support because their firmness can be adjusted with water. best mattress for a 3 year old | how to choose & my recommendation 2021

At the fragile age of 3 years, children spend about 10 to 12 hours per day. In 3-year-old children, they can not do much; things they can do mostly revolve around eating or sleeping. The time they spend sleeping in a day can reach 12 hours. This means that almost half of the day they do is sleep; therefore, the bed used must have a good standard so that they can get the energy needed when they wake up later.

Not only for adults, but the problem of sleep deprivation can also be experienced by young children, and this problem can have serious consequences, especially in children under 3 years, they must get enough sleep to be able to grow and develop ideally. So getting the right mattress is a mandatory investment.

In childhood, children are in a period of growth, both mentally and physically. As has been said before that the problem of sleep time is an important issue, also coupled with the quality of sleep is also an important thing. Next, we make a list of what matters to consider when you want to buy a new mattress for children under 3 years.

Novaform Mattress review : 14″ Serafina Pearl Gel Queen Memory Foam

Novaform 14″ Serafina Pearl Gel Queen Memory Foam Mattress

Novaform 14″ Serafina Pearl Gel Queen Memory Foam Mattress Recently, I read a very interesting article on the effect of sleep deprivation on everyday life. Well, we all know how waking up sleep deprived can feel, right? What made the article more interesting were the probably causes of sleep deprivation that research has dug up.

Apart from the commonly known ones, there were quite a few, which I was unaware of.

One of them is thermoregulation, the regulation of body temperature which is sluggish while you sleep. So, in effect, your body cannot cool or warm it as well as it can during the day time. The other is the alignment of our spine. Both these factors are dependent on the mattress we sleep on.

Surprise, surprise! And you always thought it was your partner who snores like a rundown tractor. Err…we’ll talk about that another day.

The fact is that you may not put a lot of thought into it while picking a mattress, but believe me, there is a lot more to it than a comfortable sleeping surface.

see my post: How to Choose The Best Mattress for Side Sleepers

And it was this thought that made me dig deeper into the market looking beyond misleading salespersons to find a mattress that ticked all the right boxes.

Despite being overwhelmed at the number of choices, I was thoroughly impressed with the Novaform 14” Serafina Pearl Gel Mattress and here are my reasons for it. Continue reading

How To Choose The Best CPAP Chin Strap For Sleep Apnea 2021

sleep with open mouth

While breathing through the nose is considered the healthier way to sleep, many people who suffer from sleep apnea tend to be mouth-breathers, this can be due to habit, congestion or due to their jaw structure.
If you’re congested on a regular basis, you should make an appointment to see a sleep specialist to find out if you need to begin using a chin strap.

CPAP chin strap is intended to use by patients who wear a CPAP mask during their treatment sessions, but experience jaw drops during the night.
The CPAP chin strap work by keeping the patient’s mouth closed during CPAP use, which will help to prevent a sore throat and make they wake up. A chin strap will also contribute to preventing air from escaping through the patient’s open mouth.

These apnea straps are used in conjunction with a CPAP machine, to treat respiratory issues or sleep apnea. These machines will administer a constant level of air pressure to prevent a patient’s airways from closing.
These devices will help the user to breathe regularly and easier during sleep. The primary duty of the chin strap is to keep the user’s mouth closed, which will prevent airflow through the mouth. While a CPAP device can use for a variety of medical conditions, they are primarily used to treat apnea.

Apnea is the medical condition that involves the airway narrowing or closing during sleep, once the muscles have relaxed. This type of airway restriction will cause a patient to receive an insufficient amount of oxygen, lack of energy, fatigue during the day, chronic headaches and snoring is also a frequent apnea symptom.

CPAP therapy is one of the most successful treatments for apnea, and it can have more satisfactory results when used with a CPAP chin strap. Many people who suffer from apnea find that their mouths are open during sleep, which interferes with the effectiveness of the therapy. The CPAP device relies on a type of closed system to create the air pressure in the windpipe, which is how the airway is kept open.

Air leaking from the mouth will prevent the machine from working adequately, because of the air that enters the nose leaving through the mouth before reaching the user’s windpipe.
