If you use a CPAP machine to treat your sleep apnea, you know how important it is to have a good seal between your mask and your face. If the mask is too loose, air will leak out, and you won’t get the full benefit of the treatment. But if the mask is too tight, it can be uncomfortable and even painful. So how can you tell if your CPAP mask is too tight?
- Here are some signs that your CPAP mask may be too tight:
- You experience discomfort or pain when wearing the mask.
- Your skin feels irritated after wearing the mask.
- You have difficulty breathing through your nose while wearing the mask.
A CPAP mask that is too tight can cause leaks around the edges of the mask. Some other signs that your CPAP mask may be too tight are if you experience red marks on your face from the mask or if you have difficulty breathing while wearing the mask.
